Vale Cottage is a beautiful grade II listed 14th century thatched Devon longhouse situated in the popular coastal village of Croyde.

We offer quality ensuite B&B accommodation all year round in friendly, relaxing surroundings.

We have excellent facilities for surfers!

We are just 5 minutes walk from "The Manor" public house and a few more to the village centre with its restaurants, shops, surf hire outlets and of course the world famous "The Thatch" pub.

A short walk from the village centre takes you to the award winning sandy beach of Croyde Bay!

Direct from the cottage there are amazing walks over the hills to the beautiful sandy beaches of Saunton Sands, Putsborough and Woolacombe.

Our cosy double bedded rooms are all en-suite and have colour TV and tea & coffee making facilities.

We also have a Twin room available with shared facilities, ideal for Surfers!

As Vale Cottage is very old and thatched, all rooms are non-smoking.

Breakfast is served in the cosy dining room.

We offer a delicious freshly cooked English breakfast, with as many mugs of tea or coffee as you can drink!

Surfers, bodyboarders, climbers and cyclists etc are all very welcome!

From London and the South East:

Most our guests find it quicker to come off the M25 at junction 12 (M3), come down the M3 then take the A303 down as far as the A358 which takes you up to the M5 (J25).

** remember to use the new bypass road & bridge AROUND Barnstaple (sign posted A361 Ilfracombe) **

Follow the A361 (North Devon Link Road) all the way around Barnstaple then onto Braunton. In Braunton turn left at the traffic lights (after the blue "Hunter" Surf Shop) onto the B3231 (signposted to: Saunton, Croyde & Georgeham). Go past the Saunton Sands Hotel, round the headland and down into Croyde.

Finding Vale Cottage B&B:

After arriving in Croyde, drive past "The Thatch" pub, follow the road down past the shops and round to the right, past the "Post Office", then past "The Manor" pub. Continue on, Vale Cottage B&B is 450m further up on the right. But, just before on your left is Croyde Baptist Church, park in their car-park. Leave everything in the car and pop across the road to say hi.
